Polar Asset Management

A new home for Polar Asset Management is simultaneously a base for their corporate operations and a home for their sizeable and significant collection of art.

Clear delineations of space with a simple palette of wood and glass, with tones of black a white evoke an abstracted arctic landscape.

The project was shot in winter 2022 and has been featured in Architectural Record, and has received an AIA Canada Design Award, Architectural Record Interiors Award, Best in Canada Award, and Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Award, among others.

“Aside from circulation, these corridors have another important function: their walls hold a significant collection of Canadian modern art. [Paul] Sabourin says the art collection stimulates innovative thinking and signals the company’s values…

A lot of people feel this is a special workplace, and the art is part of that,” adds Abdalla Ruken, the company’s deputy CIO..”
