Kendall Renovation and Addition

This project reinvigorates one of the stately semi-detached homes that are characteristic of Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood.

The project deftly balances between interventions that blend seamlessly with the existing traditional architecture, and those that speak to a contemporary style that suits the lifestyle of the homeowners.

The rear addition is a simple yet refined brick volume with generous openings that allow the afternoon sun to flood the home with a warm glow.

A basement unit with separate entrance through a generous light well is provided for longer term guests who sometimes stay with the owners.
