Deciem Labs & Production Facilities

These photographs capture a series of projects completed for Deciem / The Abnormal Beauty Company at two locations in Toronto, both of which carve out space for the company from existing industrial buildings.

In Liberty Village, a series of labs are used for testing and development of products.

In Etobicoke, a vast industrial space has been transformed for production, distribution, and packaging.

Rarely do architects get an opportunity to transform industrial spaces (and even more rarely are they considered worth photographing) - these projects for Deciem are a refreshing counterpoint. Thought and care is taken to elevate spaces for workers of the company - from the lunch room for production staff, to the sensitive lab spaces for product development.

These images were shot over 2021 and 2022.
